Your family record book, translated in full

We translate family record books from any language into English (or another language you choose): the holder's details, spouse, children, dates of marriage and birth, and the civil status office's entries and stamps. The translation follows the layout of your original, so it is easy to compare line by line.

Family record books (livret de famille, kunnash al-hala al-madaniya, hukou and similar) have many pages. Upload the pages your application needs.

What the Home Office asks for, and what you get

The Home Office guidance says documents that are not in English or Welsh need a translation that can be checked. It should include:

  • confirmation that it is an accurate translation of the original document
  • the date of the translation
  • the full name and signature of the translator, or of an authorised official of the translation company
  • the translator's or translation company's contact details and, for applications made in the UK, their credentials
  • for applications made outside the UK, a translation the Home Office can verify

Every Diava PDF ends with a certificate of translation that covers each of these. It is signed by an authorised official of Mr Computer EdTech Ltd (trading as Diava), a translation company registered in England and Wales, and carries a reference anyone can check at diava.co.uk/verify. A bilingual reviewer you choose also signs a statement that goes on the PDF. See an example →

No visa office approves translation companies in advance, so nobody can honestly promise a translation is "approved by the Home Office". Some other countries need a sworn or notarised translation: check what your application asks for.

How it works

  1. UploadAdd a photo or PDF of each document. You see the number of pages and the exact price straight away, and a free preview of the first page.
  2. Pay once£3.99 a page, whatever the document. Translation starts as soon as you pay and takes minutes, not days.
  3. Check, sign, downloadYour reviewer checks the translation next to the original and signs. Then download each PDF, with the certificate and a copy of the original pages.

Questions

Is a Diava family record book translation accepted for a UK visa?

Every PDF comes with a certificate of translation that includes everything the Home Office guidance asks for: confirmation of accuracy, the date, the full name and signature of an authorised official, our contact details and credentials, and a reference the Home Office can verify. We can't promise any decision, because no visa office approves translation companies in advance.

What is translated on a family record book?

Everything on it: the holder's details, spouse, children, dates of marriage and birth, and the civil status office's entries and stamps. Stamps, seals and signatures are described in square brackets where they appear.

How much does it cost?

£3.99 a page, for any document and any language. You see the exact total for your whole order before you pay.

How long does it take?

Most documents are translated a few minutes after payment. Then your reviewer checks it and you download the PDF straight away.

What happens to my documents?

They are encrypted and deleted automatically 90 days after delivery, or straight away if you delete them. They are never used to train AI and never sold.
